We collect zero data. PaceCoach has no servers, no analytics, no tracking, and no accounts.

Overview

PaceCoach is designed with privacy as a core principle. We believe your presentations, meetings, and speaking sessions belong to you alone. This policy explains exactly what data PaceCoach accesses, how it's used, and where it's stored.

Voice and Audio Data

What we access: Microphone audio during active coaching sessions
How it's used: Processed on-device in real-time to analyze speaking pace
Where it goes: Nowhere. Audio is analyzed in memory and immediately discarded
Recording: We never record, store, or transmit your voice

PaceCoach uses Apple's on-device speech recognition framework. All voice processing happens locally on your iPhone using Apple's secure, privacy-preserving APIs.

Session History

What we store: Duration, alert count, and speaking statistics from your sessions
Where it's stored: Local device storage (UserDefaults)
Sync: Session history does not sync between devices
Deletion: Uninstalling the app removes all session history

Calibration Data

What we store: Your personalized speaking pace thresholds
Where it's stored: Local device storage (UserDefaults)
iCloud Sync: Optionally synced via iCloud Key-Value Store to your other devices
Control: You can disable iCloud sync in Settings > [Your Name] > iCloud

If iCloud sync is enabled, calibration data is encrypted and stored in your personal iCloud account, governed by Apple's iCloud privacy policy.

Third-Party Services

PaceCoach uses zero third-party services:

No analytics (Google Analytics, Mixpanel, etc.)
No crash reporting services
No advertising networks
No social media integrations
No backend servers

Apple Watch

The Apple Watch companion app receives pace feedback from the iPhone via WatchConnectivity. This communication happens directly between your paired devices over Bluetooth/Wi-Fi and never touches external servers.

Children's Privacy

PaceCoach does not knowingly collect any information from children. Since we collect no personal information from any user, we are compliant with COPPA and similar regulations.

Data Retention

Voice data: Not retained (processed in real-time, then discarded)
Session history: Retained until you delete the app
Calibration data: Retained until you delete the app or reset in Settings

Your Rights

Since we don't collect personal data, traditional data subject rights (access, deletion, portability) aren't applicable. However:

Deletion: Uninstall the app to delete all local data
iCloud data: Manage via Settings > [Your Name] > iCloud > Manage Storage

Changes to This Policy

We'll update this policy if we make changes to how PaceCoach handles data. The "Last Updated" date at the top indicates when changes were last made.
